PASO presents: Fusion of the Americas

The Pan American Symphony Orchestra together with Chaise Lounge performs some of Chaise Lounge’s original compositions of swinging symphonic “lounge” jazz. This program also includes a work for cello and orchestra by Mexican composer Arturo Marquez, Lluvia en la Arena, a beautiful haunting melody that evolves into a tango; Isfahan by Billy Strayhorn; and Duke Ellington’s symphonic tribute to Martin Luther King, Jr. Directed by Maestro Sergio Alessandro Buslje, with Dorotea Rácz on cello, Chris Hemingway on soprano saxophone, Jason Solounias on piano, and the retro-jazzy Chaise Lounge, this concert presents a broad variety of swinging symphony sounds.
